Javier’s last jam…..a little escape in the middle of the day

Javier de los Santos has spent some wonderful classical guitar time with me over the past few months.  We played “Duet in D” for James Smith at a master’s class, and it was a great success.  James gave us encouragement and guidance, and our playing together has blossomed.  We spent a couple of hours this afternoon playing music and talking about the world and life of being a musician.  Javier has taken a musical teaching position in Denver and is leaving the Grand Junction area.  I’m so sad to see him go.  It’s been so inspiring to play with someone who pushes me and expects me to be more.  At the last minute, just before Javier left, Craig suggested that he make a video of one of the pieces that we are working on.  So, we played the “Minore”, which is the third movement of Carulli’s “Duet in D”.  It’s a lively and fun piece to play.   I hope that you enjoy it.  If for some reason you don’t find the link, here…..  google drmarymusic youtube channel and you’ll find all of my youtube productions.  Thanks for listening!
