We started the day with the traditional excitement of egg hunting…….children running from room to room with the undeniable sounds of running feet and giggling joy ……….Then Chef Mary made cheesy eggs, bacon and waffles with home whipped cream sweetened with vanilla and powdered sugar……YU uh uM…. I know that the traditional Easter Eggs and bunny are supposed to be a distraction from the true celebration. But, I feel that in my heart it’s the spirit of celebration that is important…..at least for me and MY family. It seems so natural to celebrate the joyous rebirth of Spring as part of the celebration of Christ’s rebirth into his more than human second life…….The hopeful bud on the tree or tiny blossom on the bush……..these are all part of the spirit of Easter for me…….
A celebration of life and the life that Jesus gave for us and then saved for us, ultimately……The excitement and realization that Jesus was still alive……I cant even imagine the disbelief and final acknowledgement that must have come forth on that day………….What a glorious consideration to cheat death and the devil…..a triumph …………….a reason to hope…….a reason to forge ahead…….a reason to believe……… that, just as Spring is upon us and is forever hopeful…..so is the love of our Lord and HIS love, as well as, OUR everlasting life. Thank you for your Love, my sweet Jesus……….
