Here’s an example of one of the pieces that will ultimately be included in the “Reluctant Farewell to a Dear Heart” collection. I’ve decided to include tablature as well as simple notation to make my songs approachable to many types of players. Each piece has a title page that includes a picture of James and how the piece relates to him. It also has my ideas about the playing of the piece itself. I’d absolutely love it if you would play this piece and fall in love with it in the meantime.
The edits for my manuscript are taking much longer than expected. I guess that’s why there are so many mistakes in written music. I’m a little fussy, wanting what’s written to be what I actually heard when creating it and the way that I am playing it now. From fingerings to dynamics, I’m trying hard to have it be understandable. My husband, Craig, is helping with the computer entry and he has been a real trooper, understanding all the edits that must be done to have a great finished product. I thank him for believing in these pieces and helping me to make the publication a reality. Thank YOU for reading and caring to be interested. This project should be finished in the next few weeks!!! YAY!
