Mom played more than an hour of bridge, yesterday with her friends, Toots, Barbara and Darrel. She did GREAT!! She was a little slower than usual, of course. But, Barb said that she didn’t miss a bid!! Halelulia!!! She had a rough time handling the cards(Her left hand is still very uncoordinated and somewhat numb) and she was totally wiped out afterwards. But, she and I were SOOoooo happy to see that she may be able to regain this productive activity that she has loved so well over the years. Thank you so to Barb, Darrel, and Toots for taking the time to spend with Mom. It means so much and will make such a difference in the long run. She remembers each and every person that comes to visit and is amazed that people care about her so much. I am very thankful, as you can imagine……….
AS FOR THE NIGHT………….
Well, Mom still struggled last night. But, I got more than 6 hours of sleep, I think, and THAT is something to cheer about!!! YaHoo!! Nancy Largent stayed from 10:00 until about 5:00. She said that Mom slept pretty well from 11:00 until about 2:00, but then was up from two until Mom finally called me about 4:30 AM. She was insisting that SOMEONE find her the coffee pot that I had removed from the apartment for the night. I went over and explained………………. again……… about the coffee and insisted that she go to bed. I tucked her in with warmed towels and and a blanket. Gave her a melatonin for under her tongue, kissed her unsettled head and left her praying the rosary……..She slept for another THREE HOURS!!! That was pretty good!
Lillian Lee is staying with Mom, tonight, so I should be able to sleep, again. THANK GOD for SMALL THINGS……………..like a good night’s SLEEP!!!
