Mom’s Thank you

Today, Mom told me that she wanted to begin sending thank you cards to everyone.  So, I’ll get her some cards and she can start.  There’s SO many of you to thank!  I suggested that she write out a group thank you and that we could scan it and put it on the blog.  I’ll also try to record her reciting it.  She wrote it out and Craig will have to do the GEEKY task of uploading it for me.  She charmed everyone on the lunchroom while reciting it for them, today, and I decided that I would type it out for you and then you can see it in her handwriting and on video later this week.  She loves you all so much.

Here’s Mom’s thank you to YOU…………..

dena-thank-you-note-20090605‘Tis the human touch in this world that counts.
The touch of your hand in mine….
That means far more to the fainting heart than shelter and bread and wine.
For the shelter is gone ‘er the night is gone,
and the bread lasts only a day.
But the touch of the hand and the sound of the voice
live on in our soul always……..
This is a day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad!

    Mary,
Your Mom’s prose is so beautiful. I’m so happy that she is still able to think and communicate such wonderful thoughts. I have that verse from Psalms embroidered and framed in our bedroom! Obviously, one of my favorites. I just need to remember and practice it more. Tell her thank you from me, and give her a hug for me, too.

Oh thank you, so, for reading her thank you note, Harriet. Mom IS a very special person and she’s at her best when she’s fighting for something. With God’s help and her good attitude, we’ll come out on the other side with a smile. 😮 ) I’ll give her the hug. Mary
