The 7th cut on the Sometime’s It’s a Matter of Time CD………….This one is hard to really talk about, I guess……..I remember the night that I wrote it……..on an old upright grand piano. Yes, that’s ME, the guitar player, playing the piano on this song………I was in the dark with candles on both ends of the piano and the Kansas rain was pelting the roof, while the thunder shook the trailer home I was in…………It, like many of my songs, was a transitional journaling that led me to a better place………I’m such a positive person and I’ve learned after years of writing and sharing my music, that my sad desperate compositions left me a little empty and hopeless and I didn’t end up singing them time and time again for you……So, I’ve learned to turn lemons into lemonade for the most part. This song is an exception to this conscious decision….This CD is filled with hope and that positive view that wasn’t always found in my original music in my younger life………When I was younger, I found lots of time to write when I was healing from a broken heart(which happened far too often) or struggling with some difficult relationship(which ALSO happened far too often!)……….When I was happy, I was out doing whatever I was happy about!………I think that we’ve all been hurt time and time again by someone that we really just wanted to understand and love……………….until you just are hurt enough times……..in the same way, hit in the same region…………that you become numb and sad and can finally do what you need to do………..walk away……… Her is yet, another way that……..Sometime’s it’s just a matter of time…………..I have to say that NOW days, it doesn’t take me so long to make this assessment!
