It really is feeling like Christmas. The yard is covered with snow. We baked our first batch of stamp cookies, yesterday and nearly ate them all! The girls are wound up, but filled with a good spirit. The season and the temptations have given us reason for the daily conversations about thankfulness and greediness. Sometimes it’s hard to keep my even temper and remember that I’m the teacher in all of this and that I’m just being given the chance to TEACH. I truly hope that some of it is sinking in. :o)
Even with the fast pace of our crazy lives, we’re finding time to make and wrap presents and of course, sing Christmas music. My guitar students and the girls and I are doing a couple of Christmas programs for local assisted care homes, today. Stefi is the most obvious shining light. She can learn something in the morning and perform it in the afternoon. But, she has to be coaxed because she’s shy about playing for people.
You know, there are so many talented people in the word that hide their gifts and hard work. So many people who have something to touch others with and no courage to do it! How can I encourage you to share and dare to do what you can to make a difference. It’s NOT all about you. It IS about what you CAN be if only you let it happen. Think of all the wasted emotion and effort you’ve spent resisting the best you can be. Be brave……..Everyone will admire you for it…….Because they are frightened, too. :o) We ALL are, really. The thing that sets you apart from the others is your willingness to DO it, whatever it is and not just THINK about doing it. Unless it’s something hateful and unloving, go out and DO it!!!!……Then come back and tell me about it!
I’ve got patients waiting. So, I have to stop my rambles for right now. But, I’ll try to get back and tell you about the show, later. Have a GREAT SATURDAY and go out and DO IT!!!!!
