If Daddy were alive, it would have been his birthday, too. But, it was just us celebrating Mom’s birthday and she and Daddy’s anniversary. If he were here, he would have been 94 and they would have been married 66 years. They got married on their birthdays and Daddy still forgot from time to time!
Mom’s life isn’t what she would have chosen. But, our little party at the Camp Robber Cafe in Montrose was full of love and laughter. The girls chose pins from Momma’s jewelry box to bring to her and have her wear for the day and each made her a beautiful card. Stefi wrote out 10 of her favorite jokes and we read them more than once during our time together and all chuckled over them. One of Mom’s favorite was…”What do you call a cow with no legs?”…..”GROUND BEEF!” We had creme brulee’ and ice cream sundaes and lots of hugs and kisses. She’s a remarkable woman.

Thanks, Harriet. You’re right! :o) Thanks for the hug, too. I was praying the Lord’s Prayer last night with Mom on the phone and suddenly was stuck by how meaningful it was….she was the one who taught ME that prayer and she was having a rough time getting through it. I cried and cried. So, the hug is especially appreciated this morning.
