c03_camp1A cool fall day didn’t stop these girls from having a fun and exciting day. On Oct. 23 girls from five Delta County Girl Scout Troops took on the challenge of their first ropes course at Camp Cedaredge.

c03_camp2There were four elements to their course — after being harnessed and fitted for a helmet, along with encouragement from her troop, the girls climbed high up the trunk of a tree where they started a tight wire walk, transitioned to a log walk, and finished with an exciting zip line exit. Girls also braved the “screamer.” After being clipped on, girls were pulled 40 feet to the top with the help of other Girl Scouts. After reaching the top, the girl was released to experience the thrill of a pendulum swing back and forth for a couple of minutes until finally coming to a stop and being unclipped. These Girl Scouts had a great time and leaders are already getting requests “to go back and do it again!” Pictured above are members of the Delta Junior Troop 82 and Delta Brownie Troop 1181 and to the right are Girl Scouts from Cedaredge Junior Troop 411 (back row), Cedaredge Daisy Troop 2926 and Cedaredge Brownie Troop 1158 (middle row), and Hotckiss Daisy/Brownie Troop 2309 (front row).
